What is the 75HARD Challenge? [Plus Free Tracker Download]

Imagine a challenge so tough, and so demanding, that it’s almost, well….hard. LOL okay, honestly I’m on week 2 and the hardest part about this challenge I’d say is maintaining consistency. The 75HARD Challenge is really a 75-day mental toughness program that’s designed to push you to your limits and reset you. Created by Andy Frisella, this challenge is not for the faint of heart, but for those who are ready to truly transform. Here’s what it entails:

  1. Follow a diet: Any diet. No cheats, no alcohol.
  2. Two 45-minute workouts per day: One must be outdoors, no matter the weather (yoga or a walk counts and are encouraged!)
  3. Drink a gallon of water per day (listen to your body; for some body types this may be too much)
  4. Read 10 pages of a non-fiction book per day.
  5. Take a progress picture every day.

You should always consult your doctor before starting a fitness journey, but those are the rules. It initially sounds a bit intense, but let’s talk about why this challenge could be your ticket to an upgraded version of yourself.

Clarity from Being Alcohol-Free

Picture this: You’re at a party, and everyone’s chugging their beers while you’re sipping on sparkling water or cranberry juice, feeling like an undercover superhero. Why? Because being alcohol-free gives you the superpower of clarity. Corny, I know, but for real it’s nice. Your decisions are clearer, your sleep improves, and waking up hangover-free feels like winning the lottery when you have the energy to run your next-day errands. You start to see things differently, and trust me, the view from this side is healing and grounding. Even if this sober view is temporary, it’s a great start.

Mindfulness in Sticking to a Diet

Dieting isn’t just about what you eat; it’s about mindfulness. When you commit to a diet (and stick to it, no cheating!), you become super aware of what you’re putting into your body. Every meal becomes a moment of mindfulness. You’ll discover new foods, new recipes, and perhaps even a new appreciation for your body. This mindfulness extends beyond just food—it spills over into your daily life, helping you become more present and intentional in everything you do. It’s a beautiful, delicious journey of self-discovery.

Redefining Fun When You’re Sober

I’m not going to be a fakey fake and pretend like I don’t like to drink. Fun doesn’t always have to come in a bottle though. When you’re sober for these 75 days, it can help you redefine what fun means to you. Suddenly, deep conversations, board games, exploring your town, and even cleaning and reorganizing become your go-to sources of joy (well at least for me). You start finding fun in places you never expected to or maybe restart old projects that you were interested in. 75Hard really inspires the personal challenge of figuring out what brings you authentic joy.

Jumpstarting the Next Version of Yourself

75 days in a row of the gym and going outside will feel so good once you get a hold of your routine. An outlined routine will truly be the key to your success.

The 75HARD Challenge is more than just a checklist; it’s a mindset shift. It forces you to face your limits, then smash through them. You’ll emerge on day 75 not just as a stronger, fitter version of yourself, but as someone who knows that they can conquer anything they set their mind to. This will be the ultimate jumpstart to the next version of you.
