My Triple 15 Reset: A 3-Step Method to Reset Your Mind and Conquer Stress Management
What if you could transform your stress into something productive in just 45 minutes? Introducing my “Triple 15 Reset Method”. It’s a personal coping skill I’ve used to tackle stress in three simple steps: a timed 15 minutes of allowing myself to stress out, a 15 minute guided meditation, then 15 minutes of timed brainstorming for a solution. This method has allowed me to manage stress, clear my mind, and create actionable solutions—all in under an hour.
I chose 15 because in numerology, the number 15 is often associated with independence, creativity, and harmony. It’s considered a “fortunate” number because of its positive energy balance—blending the leadership of 1 with the cooperative nature of 5.
OK Anyways… What is the Triple 15 Reset Method?
I have a type a personality that needed a structured, time-bound approach to stress management. This method encourages me to engage in my negative thoughts and play out my annoyingly creative scenarios for a set period so I can move the heck on. Here’s how it works for me:
- 15 Minutes to Stress Out
Stress is a natural response to the pressures of life, and bottling it up or trying to avoid thinking of it only makes things worse. Instead of avoiding it, the 15-15-15 method allows you to embrace the chaos. For 15 minutes, give yourself permission to vent, feel overwhelmed, or even write down everything that’s worrying you. During this phase, you’re allowed to acknowledge every stressful thought without judgment. - 15 Minutes of Guided Meditation
Once the initial stress is out in the open, it’s time to reset. Use the next 15 minutes to engage in a guided meditation. I usually look one up on youtube by typing “15 minute guided mediation“. Meditation is scientifically proven to reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and bring clarity to the mind. By pausing and focusing inward, you can neutralize the stress and create a blank slate for the next step. - 15 Minutes of Solution Building
Now that your mind is calm and centered, it’s time to pull it together and get practical. The final 15 minutes are dedicated to solution building. Take the problems you’ve identified earlier and start brainstorming actionable steps to address them. This is where clarity meets action. Whether it’s making a to-do list, identifying priorities, or seeking help from others, this stage helps transform stress into productivity.
Don’t forget to set 15 minute alarms for each part!
